I have quite a lot of yew from a churchyard near Tewkesbury (they were going to burn it!!!!!), so I make lots of smallish items. My normal finish is a sealer followed by a wax polish (neutral). This gives a good but not highly polished finish that seems to last well and is always admired. It does not darken the wood to any noticable degree.
